S.H.E Forever: 同乐会 October 29, 2006

Quick updates about recent events:
– Went for a Primary School reunion chalet, and they’ve brought back lots of old memories. Those childish stuff that we’ve wrote in our autograph books…”Telephone number: You should know”. -_-
– My 1st Badminton game in ages, and my forearms still hurts till today.
– Virtual Insanity 2006: Made a last minute decision to go for the event. My costume as a undercover cop was not as well received as last year’s costume. Hm, I wonder why…
Anyway, thanks to PT’s bro for chopping a place early for me (Woke up at 1pm due to VI), we were able to get a good view of S.H.E Forever: 同乐会, held at Tampines Mall this afternoon.
I’ll just post some of the pictures I’ve took here…it’s one of those days where you know you want to blog, yet you have nothing to write.

Yea, I wrote in a letter to Sistic, asking about why we’re assigned the further blocks. Surprisingly, they gave me a phone call instead, informing me that most of the tickets were booked by Fan Clubs.
Well, on hindsight, should have bought the closer seats, but view from a side angle…but hey, credit goes to the Sistic personnal who gave a personal touch in replying to my complaint e-mail.
*Thumbs up*
.
Now, off to join S.H.E fan clubs….hehehe
Got my S.H.E tickets, but… October 19, 2006

9am: Internet Booking “supposedly” starts, but Sistic website shows “No Ticket Sales at the moment”. Called up the company, only to find their opening hours are at 10am.
9.30am: Finally Sistic opened their sales on Internet….only to have them allocate me 23 ROWS FROM THE FRONT. WHAT THE FUCK?????
10am: Called up Sistic for phone booking/explaination. They gave me Row 21, which was the best seats available. Grabbed it anyway.
.
I know organisers do reserve seats for “special guests”, but this is ridiculous. To have 20 rows, which is more than 400 seats, being reserved for “the chosen ones” are utter rubbish. And I have seen quite often, that those in 1st few rows aren’t really true fans, with most of their butts glued to their seats.
Let’s hope that I can still get a good view of the concert, else I’ll be mighty pissed.

Because I’ve lost a bet to Ying, I’ve to put his link on my blog.
Please help to complete this 5 minute survey! Thank you!
Masks October 16, 2006

To one degree or another, we all wear masks—day in and day out.
In the mornings, we put on the masks that turn us into employees, teachers, students, or a variety of other roles. Later in the day, we take those off and put on other masks: parents, wives, husbands, lovers, and more.
In between are the masks we wear as advocates, volunteers, and a wide variety of other roles. It’s a fluid, sometimes unconscious, process.
.
Perhaps I’ve been putting on a Happy Mask once too often, that it has become glued onto my face.
Even if I wish to converse seriously, the Mask translates all my thoughts into comedy or jumbles of mess.
Like, for instance, this post.
Sigh.
Oh well, better to be Happy than be stuck with a Sadness Mask for my entire life, right?

You should have read the rave reviews given by US Critics & even Singaporean ones (New Paper & Life: 4.5 stars, Today: 5 stars)
Yes, it may be a good show, but compared to the original, it lacks in terms of emotion, pace and character development.
Perhaps it’s due to the knowledge of the ending that kills off the surprise of the movie (Come on…most, if not all, should know what happened to the main characters, right?)
Jack Nicholson stole the show with his portrayal of Frank Costello, whose character is partly based on notorious South Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, with Mark Wahlberg a close 2nd with his performance as ultimate foul-mouthed Sgt Dignam. Both Leonardo DiCaprio & Matt Damon played their roles well, though I can’t understand how their common love interest, played by Vera Farmiga, made them fall head over heels for.
As a stand-alone movie, it’s good. But no doubt, as you watch the movie, you’ll be comparing both versions….and this loses out.
.
Rating: 4 out of 5
P.S: I’ve learnt from this movie that Cranberry Juice reduces Menstruation Pains.

Was reading Vincent’s blog, and found this picture on his latest post:

Unfortunately, I never gotten as popular as Chow Yun Fatt, real-life or his character in the show. Heck, this must have been one of my favourite comedies during my childhood days.
Imagine my delight when I found the MTV in YouTube…
