Phew, at least I made it through 2.4km unscathed. Pulled my leg muscles during the 1st lap, but shook it off to complete in a respectable timing.
Now, I wonder if my body can recover for Sunday….Zzzzzz

Sunday: Standard Chartered 10km Run.
Boy, I’m lucky not to be tested for drugs, else the testers will have to wreck their brain cells to figure out the cocktail of drugs which I’ve consumed over the weekend…
Let’s just hope I’ll pass tomorrow, eh? Guess it’s early lights-out for me…

Sha Po Lang (SPL, 殺破狼) are short for three stars in Chinese astrology.
* 殺 (S / Sha) — means Seven Killings and is the Power Star
* 破 (P / Po) — means Destructive General and is the Ruinous Star
* 狼 (L / Lang) — means Avaricious Wolf and is the Flirting Star
“Seven Kills, Destructive General and Avaricious Wolf denote obliteration, aggressive competition, and greed respectively, but they aren’t necessarily malignant stars. The alignment of the three stars under certain circumstances may lead to some unexpected, wondrous occurrence.”
It’s a polar opposite compared to Election. In Election, those with negotiation skills have the upper hand, whereas in SPL, violence & brute force helps both the Police & the Triad achieve their tasks.
If you’re looking for an action-packed violent theme, then this is the movie for you. Unfortunately, this isn’t for me…

Partially influenced by Xing Yan, & the fact that I’m lazing at home over the weekend, I’ve decided to join as a member of Video Ezy. Since I’ve missed some great movies over the years, with VCDs/DVDs being released much quicker than usual to combat piracy, why not spend some time to catch up on them?

It is time for Hong Kong’s most established triad, The Wo Shing Society, to elect a new leader. Fierce rivalries emerge between the two eligible candidates – Lok (Simon Yam) and Big D (Tony Leung Ka Fai). When Wo Shing’s symbol of leadership, the Dragon’s Head Baton goes missing, a struggle for power threatens to erupt…

There are not many action/fighting scenes in this movie as it has been replaced by pure acting, talking/negotiation and some gruesome scenes. (hitting the head with a log, pushing men in crates down the hill, hitting the head with stone, etc). So if you are dying to watch some bloody gang fight or action-packed fight, you will be left empty-handed.
Johnnie To mentioned “the weapons the members of the triad use to promote their arguments and business interest is negotiation. Only the least experienced triad members actually engaged in physical violent and fighting”
Overall, Election is not a movie for everyone. Its not one of those typical HK triad movies in the 80s-90s which we used to see. If you like Godfather, you might like Election, else stick to the Young and Dangerous series.

Quality & Quantity of sleep is what I lack for this entire week. Imagine being awoken by your own cough EVERY 2 HOURS. & I had no recollection of turning on the fan for the past 2 nights, which my mom witness.
Yes, I’ve seen the doc…let’s hope the medication I’ve been taking for the past 2 nights will finally be effective tonight.
Weekend can’t come sooner for me…

No, we didn’t play slowly. The main reason was due to “diao zheng” (banker win) at least 12 times…sorta spoil our initial plans to go cycling, but at least we’ve enjoyed. 
Let’s see if we can do it again soon…
