Technically, been back for a few days…my body needs recovery from jet-lag/time-zone/weather adjustments…hence, the late post.

the only Tiger Show we saw was on the plane logo.

The weather was great in Bangkok. With temperatures from 12 to 18 degrees, this was the perfect condition for us to shop/eat/sleep/shop/eat/sleep….that’s basically the summary of what we did for the past 5 days.

Wah…Frosty so cheap…

Shopping: Bargains Galore! We’ve shopped so much, till we did not have the time to fulfill Zijian’s dream of visiting the Grand Palace.

MBK, Suan Lum Night Bazaar, Platinum Mall, Chinatown, Patpong, Chatuchak Market (twice!) & more…our shopping spree was only limited by our cash in our wallets.

Night view of Bangkok from the Ferris Wheel in Suan Lum.

Eating: I miss their Ter Kar. Not to mention their seafood, shark fin, birds’ nest, etc…no wonder my waist size have grown.

Seafood at Somboon

Shark Fins at Chinatown

See! Prata!

In view of the recent economic blunder in Thailand, we have did our very best in boosting the economy in the short-run. At the start of our trip, we brought along a rough estimate of S$500 per person.

5 days later, we’re left with approximately…

S$1.20. Total.

The gang of 7

So…when’s the next trip, guys?

Was at Changi Airport Mac yesterday to fetch my parents back from their Thailand trip (3 more days for me!), when I noticed someone who was using the free terminals to surf.

Despite seating like 4 seats away, the websites’ layout was unmistakably familiar…

You can pretty much figure out what he was doing, at the “peak” hours on a Sunday night….though I felt that he shouldn’t be doing that in a public place, where kids are hanging around, & letting everyone know how much of a “gambling ghost” you are.

Yea, I do bet at times, but I don’t check for odds in a public terminal. These sort of research is best to be done in private…

How uncanny… December 17, 2006

One month ago, I’ve mentioned about 2 Bamboo, which someone threw for me twice to win big on both occasions…

Yesterday, the same sequence of event happened once again… thrown by the same person!

My lucky tile…:D

The Bank of Thailand bought dollars on Tuesday to rein in the baht as Asia’s best performing currency hit its highest since the Asian financial crisis, while other regional currencies followed its firm tone.

The baht retreated to 35.32 per dollar after reaching 35.23, its strongest since October 1997, strengthening beyond its previous high of 35.46 per dollar set in December 1998.

Assistant governor at Bank of Thailand, Suchada Kirakul, told reporters that the central bank had intervened, buying dollars to try to slow the rise of the baht.

But she said the bank would take time to consider whether fresh measures were needed to deter foreign speculation in the baht after it imposed curbs last week to block access by foreign speculators through domestic bond and debt paper transactions.

A dealer at Bangkok Bank said he expected the central bank to impose new curbs to target currency speculation in the baht to prevent the currency from breaching the key 35-per-dollar level.

“A break below 35.00 could herald more selling, although we expect the BOT to guard this level religiously,” said Thio Chin Loo, currency analyst at BNP Paribas.

Christy Tan, currency analyst at Bank of America in Singapore, said markets were betting on a decision from the Bank of Thailand to keep interest rates unchanged on Wednesday, which would underpin the Thai currency.

The Thai central bank meets on Wednesday to review its monetary policy, but 8 of 9 analysts surveyed by Reuters predicted the central bank would leave its 14-day repurchase rate unchanged at 5.0 percent.

The baht has gained around 16.6 percent so far this year, prompting worries among local exporters that the currency’s rise could crimp their revenues and make their goods less competitive.

If you didn’t know, baht has been strengthening for the past 3 weeks….now, the exchange rates are like S$1 is to 22.6-22.8 baht…

Lucky I’ve exchanged it during my last business trip. :)

There’s always this unexplained phenomenon that a cutesy song will get stuck in my head, and be played over & over again…

For now, that would be “愛x無限大” by 元若藍

Like most songs nowadays, there’s dance steps that goes along with the song…and it’s named as “有夠笨舞步”. Hehe…apt name for a song that is meant to be cutesy.

Until you find out that the dance steps were choreograph by Lan Bo Lau Shi. (Apparently, my sis told me he’s quite famous in the dance scene).

& then, u watch the video on how to dance “有夠笨舞步”.

& you’ll be impressed by the amount of effort put in by 元若藍.
